Social prescribing is A way of connecting people with activities, groups and services within the local area. This is a free service and if you feel you could benefit from any additional help or support then please just get in touch with the surgery and ask to be referred to the Social prescriber or wellbeing coordinator. All we need is your consent and its a very simple and fast process. See below some examples of what they can help with:
- Local community groups and activities, such as walking or running groups, art classes or a peer support group are available.
- Are you struggling with a bereavement and need some support or counselling
- Are you struggling financially and perhaps feel you could be entitled to additional benefits or need help with the paperwork
- Support groups for long term conditions
- Support with housing or employment
- Mental health or courses to help with anxiety
You don’t need to see your GP to use this service, any of the staff (reception, admin, clinical) at the surgery can refer you into the service. So please don’t struggle, there is always help available and only a phone call away. Just call reception with a brief summary of what you are struggling with or send an online consultation here and we will make the referral.
