Dear patient, throughout the pandemic we have strived to make Whitby as safe as possible for our patients and our staff.  We will continue to do so going forward.  Patients will still need to wear a mask, socially distance and use hand sanitiser when attending for an appointment and patient facing staff will continue to wear PPE.

We appreciate it can be frustrating but we know that when patients come to us they may be sick and vulnerable, and some cannot receive the covid vaccine due to medical reasons.  We feel it would be wrong not to continue with these small precautions that can help to protect the patients and staff at Whitby. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

  • Our main entrance door and telephone lines are open between 08:00am and 6:30pm,  Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays.
  • You can use our e-consult service during business hours and avoid any queues
  • Please still observe the wearing of face masks/coverings and social distancing when entering the building
  • Prescription requests / documents / letters etc can still be placed in our new post box in the main lobby which is emptied on regular basis

We will be continuing to use telephone triage to assess each patients needs and our reception team are trained to ask certain questions in order to ensure that you receive the most appropriate medical care, from the most appropriate health professional, at the most appropriate time.

We respectfully ask that you continue to refrain from ringing or coming to the surgery unless it is strictly necessary, as there are a number of useful links and information pages within our website.

For the latest information about the easing of lockdown please visit GOV.UK

We appreciate that it can be difficult to get through to us on the phone.

To save you time try E-Consult and we will call you.  You can access E-consult here.
