Hello & Goodbye

Posted on July 15th, 2020

Whitby Health Partnership would like to welcome our newest member to its team, Clinical Pharmacist Mr Joe Garr, who joined us in June.

Joe studied Master of Pharmacy at De Montfort University in Leicester, and upon completion of his Pre-registration training year, became a fully qualified pharmacist. He worked initially in community pharmacy, a role which he thoroughly enjoyed. During this time he completed his Independent Prescribing Qualification at Edge Hill University.

As a Clinical Pharmacist he will be working as part of the multidisciplinary team at Whitby focusing on prescribing and medicines management. To provide expert, friendly and easily accessible advice on medication related queries, to both colleagues and patients.

Outside of work he is a keen football fan, loves a good country walk and trying to keep in shape.

Whitby Health Partnership shall be saying a very sad goodbye to Dr Heather Burns as she leaves us to join pastures new on the 17th July 2020.

Dr Burns initially started as a locum GP covering maternity leave with Dr’s England & Partners in June 2016, before accepting a permanent position in 2017.

She quickly became a valued member of the team working above and beyond the call of duty, always ready to assist where and when necessary. Dr Burns was well loved by all of the admin, reception and GP’s here at Whitby but especially by the patients with whom she would create special bonds.

We are sure that you will join us in wishing Dr Burns all the best for the future, also in her new career move, they are very lucky to be having her join them.
