The 6 GP practices in Ellesmere Port are working together and combining resource’s to deliver the COVID vaccine from one site for further information please visit the One Ellesmere Port website
It’s booster time!
Today Friday 09th April marks 12 weeks since we started our covid vaccination campaign and held our very first clinic at the Civic Hall in Ellesmere Port on the 15th January. Although this is a combined effort with 6 other practices in Ellesmere port with over 22,000 patients having had their first vaccination at our vaccination site, we have successfully vaccinated over 5000 Whitby Health Partnership Patients alone. We are now embarking on providing those patients with their second vaccination over the next few months
Due to vaccine availability we will need to concentrate on providing patients with their second booster vaccination and will review the situation for those still waiting to receive a first vaccination as the programme continues over the next few months.
Please be patient, we will ring you to arrange an appointment when the time is right unless you have received your vaccination elsewhere.
This is an appointment only service please do not turn up as you will not receive your vaccination until invited.
We understand that everyone is extremely anxious to receive inoculation against the COVID-19 virus, especially as we are now slowing moving out of our third National Lockdown and following the Road Map to Recovery.
We still politely ask that you refrain from contacting the surgery either by telephone, e-consult or by visiting the surgery to ask when or if you can book an appointment to receive the vaccination, even if you have received a letter from NHS England.
The decisions as to eligibility, priority and when patients will be offered the vaccination is provided by NHS England & the Government Vaccination Programme, NOT by your GP Practice.
Your GP is not able to prioritise patients as The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), an independent expert group, has recommended that the NHS offers these vaccines first to those at highest risk of catching the infection and of suffering serious complications if they catch the infection.
This includes older adults, frontline health and social care workers, care home residents and staff, and those with certain clinical conditions. When more vaccine becomes available, the vaccines will be offered to other people at risk as soon as possible.
When the time is right for you to be invited we will contact you directly , it is therefore important that you ensure that your contact details are up to date
